Color Wheel EYES

5th grade students began their color wheel project by first completing a 12-part color wheel worksheet to identify and label the primary, secondary, and intermediate colors.  Then using a ruler, students measured and divided their square paper into 12 triangular sections.  They labeled each section and started painting primary colors, then secondary colors, and mixed paint to create the intermediate colors.

To start assembling their eye, students cut and glued a large white circle on background paper.  Their painted color wheel became the iris, a black smaller circle was used for the pupil, they covered it with a “skin” paper, and finished everything by adding eyelashes.
