Crayon Colors

Kindergarteners learned about colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.

We sang songs about how to spell each color, they colored a crayon each color, we danced to a video about each color, they cut out each of their colored crayons (using scissors with control), and they glued their crayons down in color order!

Animal Drawings

1st Grade students started Alphabet Animal Drawings. They will work on a different animal throughout the school year.  First we watch a short educational video about the animal, then we draw the animal together step by step looking for various shapes and lines.  Afterwards we draw the animal's environment and we give our animal something to eat.

Value Landscape

4th Grade defined value (the lightness and darkness of a color or black) and then created a value scale using different pencil pressure.  Afterwards, students drew a landscape drawing based on artwork by Brazilian artist Romero Britto.  Then students chose a color and filled in their drawing using only values based on their color choice.

Warm/Cool Landscape

3rd graders learned about warm (red, orange, yellow) and cool (blue, green, purple) colors and then identified objects in nature that have those color temperatures.  Afterwards students drew a landscape picture, folded it in half, and then colored one side using only warm colors and the other side using only cool colors.

ABC Art Book

2nd graders started a Alphabet ART Book that they will work on throughout the school year.  Each letter has a different theme and activity we will discuss and complete.
