Flying Bats

To begin their bat project, 2nd grade watched an educational video about bats. Then students used their own hands to trace and cut out as bat wings. Then they drew details onto an oval paper to create a face, they decorated a craft stick, and then glued everything together. Once dry, students will be able to move their bats back and forth and make them fly!

Bats over the Moon

1st grade traced and cut out a white circle for their moon, a black circle cut in half for bat wings, and another black circle for their bat head. They glued each piece onto a background paper, then added ears, eyes, and a mouth to complete their bat flying over the moon project.

Positive/Negative Space Cats

3rd grade discussed and identified positive and negative space. Then students cut out a cat shape and glued all their paper down to show both a positive and a negative space cat.

Color Wheel Spider Webs

5th graders created a color wheel spider web using chalk. Students first had to divide their paper into 12 sections. They added a spider or two using glue. After that dried, students filled in each section using chalk, and blended the primary and secondary colors together to create their 6 intermediate colors. They overlaid a spider web on top using white chalk to complete their project.
