To continue our symmetry butterfly lesson, 2nd grade students watched a video clip about the lifecycle of a monarch butterfly. We then reviewed symmetry by looking at different objects and butterfly wings. Then students filled their papers with symmetrically designed butterflies.
Students are finishing up their ABC animal drawings. We have been completing these throughout the school year. We watch an educational video clip about the animal, then students follow the steps to draw the animal, they add an environment and food for the animal, and then write down the animal’s name.
Kindergarteners watched the story of Lola Plants a Garden by Anna McQuinn. Then students followed along using lines and shapes to draw flowers, butterflies, and other details to create their own garden artwork.
4th grade created a Fantasy Fish Seascape. Students were asked to come up with a theme for their fish and its environment. They sponge painted a water background, then designed, colored, and cut out their fish, along with additional items to complete their project.
